Meta has partnered with EssilorLuxottica to launch the next generation of Ray-Ban branded smart glasses. The redesigned glasses start at $299 and are available for pre-order now, with retail availability starting October 17.

The new Ray-Ban smart glasses have upgraded features compared to the first generation. This includes improved speakers for audio quality, a new 12MP camera for better photo and video capture, and faster processing powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon AR1 chip.

The glasses have a refreshed design in classic Ray-Ban styles like Wayfarer, plus a new Headliner shape. There are more color options including transparent frames to showcase the technology inside. The glasses are lighter and slimmer for increased comfort.

New capabilities include live streaming video from the glasses to Facebook and Instagram. The glasses also integrate Meta’s conversational assistant technology “Meta AI” to enable voice commands.

Overall, Meta has focused on enhancing the core functionality of the smart glasses like media capture and sharing, while making them more comfortable and wearable as an everyday accessory.
